Noblesville adds Muzak
Shopping in downtown Noblesville will now sound more like shopping at a mall. If it’s true that people spend 30 percent more while shopping to music, the city’s recent purchase of a Muzak system could be a good thing for the merchants.
The system comes with access to a
7-million-song library, all filtered for decency. The music will be programmed for the changing seasons.
Noblesville isn’t the first city to adopt mall tactics in its downtown. Silver Spring, Md., also has a Muzak system.
South Carolina-based Muzak filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in February.
