Avon/Brownsburg area

Race car teams could live, work in same place

Residents in fast-growing western suburbs such as Brownsburg and Avon also have expressed interest in a commuter rail line, with a number of abandoned rail corridors running all the way to downtown.

Ball State student Amber Agan, who is a race car driver, wants to build a rail community based on existing culture-racing. The areas between Indianapolis Motor Speedway and O’Reilly Raceway
Park in Brownsburg are lined with racing teams and other related businesses-and racing nuts in general. Agan envisions living structures inspired by the car-a garage-like industrial design with spacious interiors that include a garage at the bottom and living areas above. Common areas could include a “corner tech center” and other supporting businesses.
