Subscribe NowA Monday night house fire on the southeast side of Indianapolis displaced a family of six and killed the family’s pet cat. Firefighters responded to the blaze in the 11100 block of House Street about 9:45 p.m. Monday. The homeowners discovered the fire after returning from a trip to visit relatives. Officials say the fire was started when a lamp in an upstairs closet ignited clothes. Damage was estimated at at least $25,000.
