Indianapolis police were involved in a pursuit on the south side Thursday morning after they tried to pull over a Dodge Durango for making an unsafe lane change and for having an expired plate. Police said the driver, 25-year-old Dustin Bauerle, failed to stop and fled through several neighborhoods beginning at about 8 a.m. At one point, police said, the driver backed up and rammed into the officer’s car and then continued to drive. Bauerle eventually abandoned the vehicle after hitting a pole near Meridian Street and Pleasant Run Parkway. Police used a stun gun to capture Bauerle, who was on work release for a previous fleeing incident.
