An Indianapolis woman was arrested early Thursday morning after police said she attempted to light her 52-year-old husband on fire. Police responded to the call in the 3500 block of North Ralston Avenue at 12:09 a.m. Thursday. A man told police he was sleeping inside the home when his wife poured rubbing alcohol on him and tried to set him on fire with a lighter. The man said his wife, 48-year-old Esther Phinisee, was intoxicated. Phinisee, who has a prior conviction for manslaughter and is a registered violent sexual predator, was arrested and preliminarily charged with arson, criminal confinement, obstruction of justice and battery.
