A man has been arrested for allegedly shooting his estranged wife to death in front of their two children. Miles Toran, 23, was taken into custody after the death of his wife, Sharon Toran, 23. The shooting took place on the city’s east side in the 3700 block of Layman Avenue at about 10:20 p.m. Tuesday night. The victim was getting ready to unload the sleeping children from her car when Toran emerged from nearby bushes and opened fire. Her brother, 21-year-old Jonathan Perry, was shot in the leg, but the children were uninjured. The couple had been married since 2008, but separated last month. Court papers show Sharon Toran filed a protective order against her husband just 16 days before she was killed.
