Hospital locked down after threats

April 24, 2012

Threats made to a patient and staff prompted a lockdown at St. Vincent Indianapolis Hospital on Monday night. At the request of police, hospital security officials closed all but the emergency department about 10 p.m. and left it on lockdown for several hours. Charles Williams, 36, was taken into custody in connection with the threats Tuesday morning. Police said Williams called the hospital 200 times and threatened to kill people after family members and staff wouldn’t let him talk to his hospitalized father.
