Juvenile takes 2 children on joyride

A 12-year-old took his mother’s car for a joyride around the south side of Indianapolis Thursday night, and took a 6-year-old boy and 7-year-old girl along. Police received several calls about a juvenile driving a Ford Taurus on South Emerson Avenue, including one from a pet store manager and an employee at Little Caesars, where the boy stopped and bought a pizza. Police apprehended the boy near Churchman Avenue after following him for several blocks. He crashed into another car at one point but continued to drive. The passengers suffered minor injuries during the crash. The boy is in juvenile detention, facing several charges.
