Wabash College president ready to step down

The president of Wabash College says he'll step down a year from now.

Patrick White has been the president of the private, all-male liberal arts college in Crawfordsville for six years. The Crawfordsville Journal Review and Journal and Courier of Lafayette report White told the school's trustees Thursday that it's better that he spend the coming year leading Wabash through the transition to a new president than to leave in a few years in the middle of its next strategic plan.

Trustees Chairman Stephen Bowen said White provided strong leadership during a period of great economic difficulty for the country and for colleges.
