IHSAA OKs 6A football class

The Indiana High School Athletic Association’s executive committee has approved a portion of an Indiana Football Coaches Association proposal that adds a 6th class of football starting in 2013-14. The state’s 32 largest schools will compete in Class 6A. The committee also approved a “success factor” point system that will require teams in all sports to move up a class if they show dominance over two years in their current class. The committee also rejected a seeding system for the football playoffs and chose Terre Haute as repeat host of the girls basketball state finals.
