Man dies, firefighter injured in blaze

A 57-year-old man died and a firefighter was injured in a house fire on the northwest side of Indianapolis Thursday morning. Firefighters were called to the home near 56th Street and Georgetown Road at about 7:30 a.m. by a neighbor who said he ran to the home and knocked on the door, but got no answer. First respondents found a man dead on the main level. A firefighter suffered non-life threatening injuries when he fell through floorboards.
