Heat warning issued for region

An excessive heat warning has been issued for central Indiana until Friday. Temperatures are expected to top records Thursday, reaching 106 degrees in some areas and at least 102 degrees in others. Temperatures should slip slightly Friday, but humidity will rise. Authorities are urging those who work outside to take extra precautions to stay cool.
