Regional investing conference heavy on Indiana banks

The third Invest Indiana Equities Conference will feature more than a dozen Indiana companies, including six banks.

In the lineup for the Sept. 13 downtown conference: First Merchants Corp. of Muncie, German American Bancorp Inc. of Jasper, Old National Bancorp of Evansville, Lakeland Financial Corp. of Warsaw, Mutual First Financial of Muncie and Tower Financial Corp. of Fort Wayne.

Other companies participating are Allison Transmission Holdings Inc., Hillenbrand Inc., Interactive Intelligence Group Inc., KAR Auction Services Inc., NiSource Inc., Shoe Carnival Inc. and Vectren Corp.

The CFA Society of Indianapolis and Financial Executives International chapter of Indianapolis are sponsors.

Conference organizers believe Wall Street isn’t the only place to drum up interest in stocks. They’ve been holding similar events since 2004 in Ohio, Tennessee and Kentucky. The conference here is intended to call attention to Indiana stocks among professional fund managers and equity analysts.
