Police arrested a Noblesville mother Monday afternoon for allegedly leaving her 11-month-old daughter alone in a sweltering hot car while she shopped. Pooja Thakkar, 31, was arrested on a preliminary charge of child neglect. Police say a witness noticed the child in the rear passenger seat of the car outside Bed, Bath & Beyond and called 911 just before 2 p.m., when the temperature was 95 degrees. The girl was treated and released to her father’s custody.
