Local watering bans still in effect

August 10, 2012

Despite recent rainfall, local water utilities aren’t ready to lift water-conservation measures. Citizens Water said levels at Indianapolis-area reservoirs are rising,  but more rain is needed before it would consider dropping mandatory watering bans. “We are in such a deficit when it comes to rainfall that we can’t lift the ban only to put it back in place in a couple of weeks when we’re back in the same situation that we were last month,” said spokeswoman Sarah Holsapple.
