A mother, father and four children escaped a fire that burned down their west-side Indianapolis home Wednesday morning, but they were unable to rescue their two caged dogs. The fire roared through the house at 1209 W. 36th St. at about 1:30 a.m., causing an estimated $75,000 in damage. The parents and the children, ages 2, 10,12 and 15, suffered minor injuries and mild smoke inhalation.
