Announcements
The Little Red Door Cancer Agency is seeking nominations for the 2013 Lawrence H. Einhorn M.D. Award. The award is given to an individual or group of individuals in the central Indiana community (Indianapolis and the eight contiguous counties) who have contributed exceptional service to the cancer community. Submit nominations by Dec. 28, 2012. Nominators should discuss the nominee’s background and how he/she or they are contributing exceptional service in the cancer community of central Indiana. Corporate Philanthropy
The Indiana Pacers, Indiana Fever and JAKKS Pacific Inc. donated more than 25,000 toys to children throughout central Indiana for the holidays.

Fundraising Results

The Central Indiana Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure received donations of more than $102,000 as the result of fundraising campaigns by White Castle, Moyer Fine Jewelers, Miller Brooks and Circle K.

Grants
Assistance League of Indianapolis received a holiday grant of $20,000 from the Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust, a $10,000 grant from the Rotary Foundation of Indianapolis for Operation School Bell and a $2,500 grant from MCR Charitable Foundation for the Assault Survivor Kits program.

In Recognition
Randall R. Riggs, Frost Brown Todd, received the 2012 Diplomat Award from the Defense Trial Counsel of Indiana.

Erland C. Porter, who received the Chair’s Award, was one of twelve members of the Indiana CPA Society honored for contributions to their profession or community.

Defender Direct received six 2012 MarCom Awards for outstanding creative achievement by marketing and communication professionals.

Alexander Its and Michal Misiurewicz, IUPUI, were selected to the initial class of American Mathematical Society Fellows for 2013.

Andi M. Metzel, Benesch Friedlander Coplan & Aronoff, was awarded a Presidential Citation by the Indiana State Bar Association.

Renee Mortimer, Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP, was awarded the Indiana State Bar Association’s Defense Lawyer Civility Award for 2012.

Ken Sauer, Indiana Commission for Higher Education, received the Outstanding Service Award from the Midwestern Higher Education Compact.

Candace Ewing, assistant principal at Snacks Crossing Elementary in Pike Township, received a 2012 Milken Educator Award.

Dr. Hui Bae Harold Lee has been initiated as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

Franciscan St. Francis Health, Southside OBGYN and WindRose Health Network were recipients of a Tony and Mary Hulman Health Achievement Award from the Indiana Public Health Foundation Inc. for providing medical services to the underinsured.

Jeffrey Short, Hall Render Killian Heath & Lyman, received the Charles Christian Leadership Award from the Indiana Chapter of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society.

Ward Management Group won the Innovative Marketing Campaign award at the annual STAR Awards hosted by the Indiana Society of Association Executives.

Bernardin Lochmueller & Associates, and the city of Washington, Ind., were named recipients of the 2012 Best Projects award for civil engineering/infrastructure in Engineering News-Record’s Midwest edition for a constructed wetlands project.•
