The top 10 complaints from Hoosier consumers this year are in with some familiar offenders on the list.

The Indiana Attorney General's Office released the annual survey for National Consumer Protection Week, which began Monday.

Topping the list: Used car sales and service. The Attorney General's Office advises car buyers to have their prospective vehicle inspected by an independent mechanic, to read anything they're asked to sign, and to get any guarantees in writing.

No. 2: Internet scams. State officials recommend never responding to requests for personal or financial information or clicking on links in unsolicited emails.

Rounding out the list: Debt collectors, lending and foreclosure scams, home repair scams, telemarketers, identity theft, retailers' refund policies, landlords and wireless phone service providers.
