Investigators say alcohol likely played a factor when a 20-year-old woman drove the wrong way on Interstate 74 in Boone County before crashing into a semi Wednesday about 3:30 a.m. Driver Maggie Tinsley of Greenwood was hospitalized in unknown condition after the crash near the Jamestown exit. Semi driver Don Bentley of Nora, N.C., escaped his truck unharmed before it burst into flames. I-74 lanes were closed for several hours after the crash.
