Stewart, 42, was competing in a sprint car race Monday night at the Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa when he crashed. He suffered a broken right tibia and fibula, and underwent surgery. Stewart will miss this week’s NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Watkins Glen, N.Y., where he has won five times.
