Woman shot during home invasion

A woman was shot Tuesday morning when at least four men broke into her north-side home, ransacked the residence and stole three vehicles. Eileen Potenza suffered bullet wounds in the leg and foot in the incident, which took place just before 7:30 in the 800 block of East 79th Street in the Windcombe neighborhood. Potenza was home with her husband and daughter when the men broke in. The suspects took the women to a bank branch at 93rd and Meridian streets to get cash before returning to the home. They fled in the three vehicles, which were recovered nearby.
