“We don’t serve teens” is underwritten by the Wine & Spirit Distributors of Indiana, Indiana Association of Beverage Retailers, Indiana Licensed Beverage Association, Indiana’s Budweiser Wholesalers and the Indiana Restaurant & Lodging Association.
The industry is spending $20,000 on the campaign, which originated with the Federal Trade Commission. Participants are distributing materials to retailers, raising awareness through their websites, and distributing posters to thousands of establishments in Indiana.
The FTC says most teens who drink get their alcohol from “social sources,” meaning at parties, by taking it without permission from home, or with the help of parents or older friends.
The “We don’t serve teens” message is aimed at adults.
