White County Sheriff Patrick Shafer tells WLFI-TV that two men involved in the shooting died at the scene and a woman was pronounced dead at a Monticello hospital.
Shafer says detectives found a box and a handgun at the shooting scene at Jordan Manufacturing in the city about 90 miles northwest of Indianapolis.
Authorities were withholding the victims' names.
A witness said the female victim, who worked at the plant, had just pulled into the parking lot with her boyfriend when her ex-husband walked up and shot both of them as they sat in a car. The shooter then turned the gun on himself.
