Conner Insurance to invest $1M, add up to 23 workers

Conner Insurance Inc. said Tuesday morning that it plans to expand its Indianapolis headquarters, creating up to 23 jobs by 2019.

The insurance brokerage firm said it will invest $1.07 million to lease and equip 10,000 square feet of office space at 8445 Keystone Crossing.

Conner Insurance, which already has 26 Hoosier employees, has begun hiring for management, accounting and client-advising positions.

The 65-year-old company provides insurance and and employee-benefit services, as well as consulting on human resources compliance, wellness programs and pension plans.

The Indiana Economic Development Corp. offered Conner up to $425,000 in tax credits and up to $175,000 in training grants based on the company's job-creation plans. The credits are performance-based, meaning until Hoosiers are hired, the company is not eligible to claim incentives.
