A police officer was injured on the northwest side early this morning while trying to assist in a chase that started at 38th Street and Gemco Lane. But an SUV T-boned the police cruiser at 38th Street and Lafayette Road, causing the SUV to flip upside down. Its driver was treated and released from a hospital, and the officer was taken to Methodist Hospital for x-rays on his leg. It is unclear which driver had a green light, or if fog played a role in the crash.
