Dana lays off 115 at Fort Wayne axle plant-WEB ONLY

A union leader says Toledo, Ohio-based Dana Holding
Corp. has laid off nearly half of the employees at its Fort Wayne axle
plant, due to the temporary shutdown of Chrysler plants.

United
Steelworkers Local 903 president Denny Leazier said 115 of the plant’s
280 employees were notified that they would be idled. He said the
workers should know by July 1 whether they would be called back to work.

The Fort Wayne factory makes parts for Jeep Grand Cherokees and Wranglers.
