California-based Alorica
Inc. announced today that it will create more than 600 jobs by establishing a
customer-service center in Lafayette.

The company, which provides
customer-support services ranging from call-center operations to Web-traceable
service logistics, will occupy a 49,900-square-foot building on Sagamore Parkway in
a building previously used by an indoor go-cart track.

The Indiana Economic
Development Corp. offered Alorica up to $675,000 in performance-based tax
credits and up to $100,000 in training grants based on the company’s
job-creation plans. Additionally, the IEDC will provide the city of Lafayette with a $15,000
grant to assist in off-site infrastructure improvements.

The Lafayette center will be Alorica’s second in
Indiana. It
has more than 750 employees at its Terre
Haute
call center that opened last year.

The company plans to begin
hiring in June.

Chino-based Alorica has more
than 7,500 employees in 16 locations worldwide.
