The American Heart Association to benefit from its annual Heart Walk & 5K on Sept. 12 at White River State Park. Gates open at 8 a.m., opening ceremonies are at 9:30 and the walk and 5K begin at 10 a.m. The walk is free, however, participants are encouraged to fundraise. Tickets: $25 registration fee for the 5K through Sept. 4 when it increases to $35. Contact indyheartwalk.org.

American Lung Association to benefit from Lung Force Walk 2015, sponsored by Managed Health Services, on Sept. 13 at White River State Park’s Celebration Plaza, at 801 W.
