Excellon Technologies Inc. said Tuesday that it plans to spend $2.1 million to upgrade and equip its existing 27,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Fort Wayne, a move that will help it hire 415 more workers by the end of 2019.
The woman-owned manufacturer, which typically makes makes products for the aerospace and defense industries, plans to launch a new line of therapeutic products called CapeAble Sensory Products.
Excellon has a current workforce of 65. It said it will begin hiring seamstresses, tailors and support personnel to work on the new product line.
The Indiana Economic Development Corp.offered Excellon up to $925,000 in conditional tax credits and up to $50,000 in training grants based on the company’s job-creation plans.
