Nearly 160 workers at Caterpillar Logistics Services Inc. will have their hours reduced by at least half starting Aug. 24, the company said. The new work schedule is expected to last for more than six months. Last month, Caterpillar said 985 non-union workers at its Large Engine Center also would have their hours cut by at least half, beginning the same day in August. The cutback in hours is the latest in a string of cost-saving measures the company is implementing to deal with slumping sales.
