App helps people find things to do in central Indiana

Austin, Texas-based DoStuff Media recently launched an app, Do317, and website,, to help people find things to do in Indianapolis.

The company has created similar apps for about a dozen other cities including Austin, Chicago and Los Angeles.

“The Do317 DoStuff App is a game-changer for the city of Indianapolis,” said Josh Baker, DoStuff Media spokesman. “Do317 is already becoming a force for people that want to get out and experience the best the city has to offer, and this app makes it easier than ever to discover what is happening around you.”

A recent TechCrunch article noted: that the “DoStuff app is smartly designed to find you something to do, but without overwhelming you with endless lists of sleazy club nights and lame community gatherings.

“While most other event aggregation apps force you to go through the chore of sifting out what’s good, DoStuff has real live humans handling curation,” the article said.

The app showcases hand-picked event listings and recommendations, plus tells people which places are offering food and drink specials, ticket giveaways and other special offers, and which entertainment acts are performing where.

It also has a map feature that shows what’s going on in the app user’s part of town.•
