The suit, filed last week in DuPage County, Ill., and reported by the Chicago Tribune and Chicago Sun-Times, claims the plastic surgeon, Dr. Sami Bittar, “solicited and initiated a romantic and sexual relationship” with Ronda Rohrman.
Bob Rohrman married Ronda, his third wife, in a “lavish” ceremony in Hawaii in December 2002, the suite says. They met at one of his dealerships.
Rohrman, who lives in Lafayette and is known for his television commercials that sign off with the signature “Bob ROOOOHHRRman,” could not be reached by IBJ for comment.
The Tribune and Sun-Times were not able to reach Ronda Rohrman, and Bittar would not comment to the Sun-Times.
“Alienation of affection” suits like the one Rohrman filed are rare and seldom succeed, and sometimes are criticized as amounting to little more than harassment. The suit seeks $50,000 from Bittar.
Rohrman said in the suit he discovered the affair through e-mails. A daughter of Rhonda’s was a patient of Bittar’s.
Ronda Rohrman filed for divorce in Illinois in April after Bob Rohrman sought a divorce in Tippecanoe County, Indiana, in June 2008.
Bob Rohrman Auto Group has 26 dealerships for Honda, Toyota and Lexus brands. It’s the 22nd-largest dealership group in the nation.
