Wells Fargo, which has had a commercial banking presence here since 2004, has added a Midwestern banking veteran to its Indianapolis leadership team.
Candelario Martinez has been named regional vice president with Wells’ Indiana middle market commercial banking operation, which serves private businesses with $20 million or more in annual revenue.
He joins James Stehlik, who also is a regional vice president based in Indianapolis. Both report to Lex Curry, the region head. Officials said Martinez will be looking to build his own team over the next several months.
Martinez most recently served as a Detroit-based division sales manager for the Great Lakes middle market banking unit, where he managed a team of business development officers in Indiana, Ohio and Michigan. He joined the company in 2005 as a business development officer. Before Wells Fargo, he was a Lazard Freres and Northern Trust Chicago investment banker.
“Our expanded leadership team is driven by Wells Fargo’s increasing Indiana market share,” Curry said.•
