Indiana Sen. Evan Bayh is expected to outline a plan today intended to provide permanent property-tax relief to more than a half-million Hoosier families. Last year, Bayh authored the first-ever federal property-tax deduction for homeowners who don’t itemize their deductions. Now he says he’s trying to make that relief permanent for more than 20 million Americans.
