Brickyard Crossing to host LPGA golf tournament for next 3 years

The Brickyard Crossing Golf Course will host an LPGA tournament for the next three years that is expected to feature some of the world’s top players.

The Indy Women in Tech Championship presented by Guggenheim will take place Sept. 4-10, 2017. It will have a purse of $2 million.

The Indianapolis Motor Speedway, which owns the course, has scheduled a 1:30 p.m. Tuesday announcement. Former Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard, IMS President Doug Boles and LPGA Commissioner Mike Whan will attend, as will professional players Paula Creamer, Morgan Pressel, Gerina Piller and Danah Bordner, a former Indiana University golfer.

Dan Towriss, the president and CEO of Indianapolis-based Guggenheim Life and Annuity Company, will also attend. Guggenheim Life is a subsidiary o fGuggenheim Partners, which is sponosiring the tournament.

Towriss, a native of Muncie, earned a degree from Ball State University.
