Nine local companies have joined together to sponsor the “Indy Business Makeover Competition” for small businesses.
They’re offering $80,000 worth of marketing services, computer reconfiguration and office furniture as the prize.

The competition is open to central Indiana companies that have been in business at least five years and have 10 to
100 employees. Applicants must explain their business goals for 2010, their marketing and IT challenges, and the reason they’re
worthy of a “business makeover.”

Ten finalists will be selected by a committee. The general public
will then choose the winner online, voting Aug. 3-7. The winner will be announced Aug. 11.

Sponsors include Port-to-Port
Consulting, which will provide the winner configuration and installation of a new server and Ethernet switch, three months
of computer support services, and a color printer; Small Box Consulting, which will provide Web site development and search
engine optimization services; and Pivot Marketing, which will provide Web site and brochure design.

Other sponsors
are Print Resources, which will provide printing services; Creative Office Solutions, which has agreed to provide a desk and
reception station; Compendium Blogware; Tronitech, which will provide data preservation and retrieval services; PHSI Pure
Water Tech, which will provide free installation and three months of service; and Royal Treatment Carpet and Upholstery Cleaning,
which will provide carpet or upholstery cleaning services.
