When she’s not handling advertising and marketing strategy for Crowe Horwath, Ann Lathrop is busy affecting the Indianapolis community.
As president of the Fort Harrison Reuse Authority (2005-2011), Lathrop helped decide how to bring investment, business and residents to the decommissioned Army base while maintaining the historic integrity of the fort.
As president of the Capital Improvement Board (2008-2015), she helped turn around a group that was “in not-good financial condition when we got there.”
“When we left, we had kept the Pacers, done nice things in Lucas Oil Stadium, hosted a Super Bowl, expanded the convention center, partnered with Visit Indy on an ROI calculator to benchmark the kinds of discounts we should be giving to groups to have them come and stay in our city, and set up a capital fund so when things broke, they could fix them.”
At the same time, Lathrop’s career has segued from auditing to marketing.
“I like doing things I haven’t done before,” she said.•
