Columbus-based Cummins Inc. is recalling 438 hourly workers, including 340 at its Midrange Engine Plant in Walesboro, according
to The Republic newspaper.

No dates for their return have been set, but workers likely will be back on the job
by mid- to late-September, the Columbus newspaper said.

Cummins announced in August that the plant’s shutdown
would be trimmed from two months to three weeks.
