Bioanalytical Systems Inc., a West Lafayette company that provides drug-discovery and -developmental services, has bought a contract research organization that specializes in pharmaceutical toxicology and vacine safety.
Bioanalytical Systems said May 1 it purchased Smithers Avanza Toxicology Services in suburban Washington, D.C. The price was not disclosed.
Bioanalytical Systems was founded by Peter Kissinger, professor of analytical chemistry at Purdue University, in his garage in the mid-1970s.•
