An Imax movie theater will open later this year in the Kerasotes ShowPlace 16 on the south side of Indianapolis, Imax Corp. said today.
The agreement between Canada’s Imax and Chicago-based Kerasotes ShowPlace Theatres LLC will give Indianapolis its second Imax theater. The city’s existing Imax is at the Indiana State Museum downtown.
A far-northside Imax theater also is in the works. IBJ reported in November that Grand Rapids, Mich.-based Goodrich Quality Theaters plans to include an Imax cinema at its 16-screen complex slated to open in 2008 at Noblesville’s Hamilton Town Center.
