An owner of Royal Spa Corp. is upset about a release the Indiana Attorney General’s Office issued today saying the Indianapolis company agreed to give consumers two written copies of their right to cancel orders when selling at fairs and other events.

Bob Dapper, who owns the company with Rick Bartlett, said he was surprised when the office contacted Royal Spa to say the form was required in Indiana, but immediately set about complying.

“They side-swiped me. I never saw this coming,” Dapper said. “We are unbelievably embarrassed that this makes us look bad.”

Royal Spa, which sells spas, hot tubs, saunas and other water-related parts and accessories, did not admit guilt.

The company employs 88 at its headquarters at 2041 West Epler Ave. on the south side, and has five-company owned locations and 75 dealers in Indiana and 18 other states, and Canada.
