February 19, 2007

Eli Lilly and Co. has contracted with four companies to distribute its new line of drugs for dogs and cats.

The companies include Butler Animal Health Supply of Dublin, Ohio; MWI Veterinary Supply of Nampa, Idaho; Professional Veterinary Products Ltd., of Omaha, Neb.; and Webster Veterinary Supply Inc., of Sterling, Mass.

Indianapolis-based Lilly also said it has finished building its sales, technical and customer service organization in preparation for the introduction.

Earlier this month, the Food and Drug Administration approved a version of Lilly’s Prozac for use in dogs suffering from separation anxiety.
