Spencer County might get $180M ethanol plant

International Steel Services Inc. of Pittsburgh, Penn., said today that its Biofuels International Inc. unit has bought an option on a site in Rockport on which to build a $180 million ethanol plant.

The Spencer County plant would produce 100 million gallons a year but be expandable to 200 million gallons annually.

Groundbreaking at Lincolnland Commerce Park in the Ohio River city is slated for this summer, with full production anticipated within 24 months.
