Carmel nursing home cited for violations

Manor Care at Summer Trace in Carmel has violated several state regulations for long-term care facilities, the Indiana State Department of Health said this morning.

The Department of Health said it wants to put the facility on probation, and require the facility to hire a nurse and licensed administrator consultants.

Among violations found in four inspections between July 2006 and March 2, 2007 are failing to follow doctor’s orders for a patient receiving anticoagulation therapy, and failing to ensure nurses provided cardio-pulmonary resuscitation for a resident who was found without a pulse or respiration.
