At F.C. Tucker Co.’s corporate office on the far northside, 20 to 25 percent of workers are out this week, said Stan Phariss, vice president of human relations for the residential real estate brokerage. Most have school-aged children.
Still, work is being accomplished, Phariss said. “It’s just quieter.”
At law firm Barnes & Thornburg, about 25 of 200 non-legal staff and secretaries have taken the week off, said human relations assistant Kim Finney.
