Bulldozers unloaded at Getrag site near Tipton

While Gov. Mitch Daniels is cautioning that German transmission maker Getrag Corporate Group hasn’t signed a contract with Chrysler, construction equipment is arriving at land Getrag owns near U.S. 31 and State Road 28 north of Indianapolis.

Two bulldozers and a front-end loader arrived yesterday, according to the Kokomo Tribune. Getrag bought 145 acres earlier this month for the $560 million project-the largest in the state since Honda Motor Co. announced nearly a year ago that it would assemble cars at a new plant at Greensburg.
