Furniture maker sees drop in profit, revenue

West Lafayette-based Chromcraft Revington Inc. posted a loss of $1.2 million in the first quarter, compared with profit of $1.1 million in the year-ago period. Revenue in the three months declined 26 percent, to $33.8 million.

The maker of residential and commercial furniture attributed the decline to a soft retail market, pressure from import markets and a restructuring of its sales department.
