Herb Simon, co-founder of Simon Property Group Inc. and co-owner of the Indiana Pacers, has joined with other investors to buy the Tucson Sidewinders, a Triple A baseball team, for $13.5 million. The other investors are Jerry Katzoff and Stuart Katzoff, a father and son from New York City. The new owners plan to move the team to the Reno, Nev. area. The team, which feeds players to the Arizona Diamondbacks, is owned by Jay Zucker. The new owners plan to build their team a stadium in Washoe County, which should be finished in time for spring training in 2009.
