One person killed in early morning fire

A young woman is dead and two family members hurt after a house fire early this morning on Cottage Avenue on the city’s south side. A mother, who jumped out of a second-story window, survived, as did one of her daughters, but her other daughter died. The fire was in the same area where more than a dozen others were intentionally set, but investigators have not yet determined the cause.
