A long-planned distribution park at Interstate 70 and State Road 39 in Hendricks County can go forward now that Lauth Property Group has closed on the purchase of 555 acres it has assembled at the northeast corner of the intersection.

Lauth announced the closing today.

As IBJ reported a year ago, Westpoint Business Park will have 10 warehouses. They will have a total of 7.1 million square feet, and range from 500,000 to 1.4 million square feet. Construction on the first building, with 520,000 square feet, will begin in spring, Lauth said.

A major selling point is the location’s proximity to the interstate and Indianapolis International Airport. The intersection is the next interchange west of Plainfield, which is rapidly filling with warehouses.
